The most rewarding spiritual activities you will ever
experience are probably going to be on Christian mission
trips. Is God calling you to go on a missions trip? Here are the success secrets which
will unlock the door to all that God has planned for you, the missionary... and the people to whom you will
minister on your mission trips.
When I heard God's call to participate on a short term mission trip to another
part of the world (see About Me page), I immediately began searching
for every bit of information I could find to prepare me for what lay ahead.
Unfortunately, I found very little for the "average" Christian... just a lot of
academic theology and very few practical tips on Christian mission trips preparation.
Because of that, I decided to combine what I learned in my missions experience
with straight-forward and easy to understand insights that I have found to be effective. On this website you
will find a myriad of guidelines to help you on your missionary journey.
First of all, I am not a seminary graduate with a degree in Christian
missions or high theology. I am not an expert; I'm just a regular guy with some experience, and I hope
to save you some of the troubles I have seen in the field. Along the way, I'll try to point you toward
some resources that I've found helpful.
The tips I offer are the "on-the-ground" techniques and strategies that I
use every day on my own Christian missions trips.
Some of the techniques I suggest may be controversial, but they will certainly not
be dull. As some of my friends are quick to point out, "If I didn't have my sense of humor, I wouldn't have
any sense at all!" It is my hope that we will learn and laugh together.
Some of the practical
tips for mission trips you will discover are:
No matter how many tips, tactics, and techniques you learn and apply, the most
important thing for you to do is make sure you are continually walking with the Lord.
The most critical aspect of your Christian mission trips is not what
you will do to help others, but what God is doing within you.
Should you become a short-term missionary and participate on a missions
trip? Although I understand that there are physical limitations in some Christians' lives, I believe that
every believer should go on at least a one-week misstion trip experience with God, live with a family in a
cross-cultural situation, and preach the gospel through his actions for the glory of Christ.
It is only through seeing the world through
the eyes of God that we can truly begin to understand His love and care for each one of
us.
I pray that you will take these missionary strategies to heart and apply them on
the next successful Christian mission trips that you take.
